Some of the challenges that women face in terms of  menstrual hygiene in India  are: Cultural Taboos: A lot of people in India think menstruation is unclean and undesirable, which finally leads to removing menstruating women from the group. It leads to social exclusion and gender discrimination. The socio-cultural norm accepts rules that enable the girl to exclude from religious activities at the temples and to have access to clean water.
